Message from the Supervisor
July 29, 2020
Dear Families of New Horizon School:
In a matter of only a few weeks, we will begin the 2020-2021 school year. Over that time, we will be putting some finishing touches on our re-opening plan. While this year may be uniquely challenging on many different levels, we are excited about the opportunity to help your child grow physically, emotionally, and socially.
It would be an understatement to say that there are some changes coming our way this school year. New programming, new procedures and protocols, new technology, new staff, and of course...new students. One of our biggest changes recently transpired within the administration of the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit. Effective July 1, 2020, the following changes occurred:
- Director of Special Education for the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit- Mrs. Melissa Niedbala
- Supervisor of Special Education at New Horizon School- Dr. Christopher B. McCabe
- Assistant Supervisor of Special Education at New Horizon School- Mr. David Rodgers
Parents and guardians play an integral role in their child's experience in school. I invite you to join the PTO and attend their meetings. I also cannot stress the importance of your role on your child’s IEP Team. We will be notifying all families well in advance of their child’s IEP meeting date and ask that you make every effort to attend this important annual meeting.
We look forward to a successful school year with your child. Please know that our staff will be working tirelessly to provide the most appropriate, effective, and safe educational setting. At any point in time, please do not hesitate to contact me should you ever have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education at New Horizon School.
Christopher B. McCabe, Ed.D.
