ATTENTION FAMILIES with students who require medication during school hours:
Our ESY program will begin on Tuesday, July 5 from 9am to 12 noon. It is our hope that your child’s
medication can be given before or after ESY due to the short school day.
However, IF your child requires a scheduled medication during ESY hours, you MUST call your doctor
and obtain a physician order AND the medication MUST be sent in a pharmacy labeled bottle with your
child’s full name and name of medication. This also includes as needed rescue medications for seizures
or anaphylactic medications for severe allergies. Orders and medication can be sent in on the first
day of ESY OR orders can be faxed to 724-728-4520 ATTENTION: NURSES
Our school nurses are NOT permitted to dispense medication to your child WITHOUT
an order from your doctor. Please remember to apply sunscreen to your child PRIOR to your child
leaving home. If you have any questions regarding medication administration, please
call NEW HORIZON SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
