The single-story design of the public school ensures that the facilities are easily accessible to all children.  Twenty-five classrooms are grouped into four major sections (i.e., pods).  Adjacent to each pod is an outside area and an inside multi-purpose room.

Other special features of our school include a state-of-the-art sensory room, two gymnasiums, a modern playground and pavilion, a swimming pool, a music room, a home-making suite, a library, an auditorium with a stage, speech/language therapy offices, physical and occupational therapy gymnasiums, a full-service cafeteria with kitchen, and the national school lunch program.

New Horizon School adheres to the Pennsylvania State Standards for Education.  The teachers and paraprofessionals at our school are all highly qualified and stay current with new methods and practices in the field of special education.

New Horizon School is operated by the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit (IU #27).  The B.V.I.U. is an equal opportunity educational institution and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap in its activities, programs, or employment practices as required by Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504.
